Michael is a research scientist at Google working on 3D computer vision and generative modeling. He studied Mathematics as a Bachelor's and Computer Science as a Master's, and completed his PhD at the MPI-IS Tuebingen and the University of Tuebingen supervised by Andreas Geiger. His joint works Occupancy Networks and DVR were selected among the top 15 most influential papers at CVPR 19 and 20, and he received the best paper award at CVPR 2021 for his GIRAFFE work.
